Senior Software Engineer (Data Platform / BI Modernization)

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help lead the modernization a Business Intelligence and data platform for a large hedge fund as they transition from a traditional on‑prem SQL Server environment to a cloud‑native data architecture.

This is a hands‑on engineering role for someone who enjoys building systems the right way. You will help define the future data platform strategy, design and implement a modern data warehouse or lakehouse architecture, and ensure the stability and reliability of the BI systems the business depends on today.

You’ll need to have

• Strong programming skills - Python is our primary language
• Strong experience building and operating data pipelines, data warehouses and/or data lakehouses
• Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and dimensional modeling
• Strong experience working in at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks)
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, etc)
• Experience designing microservices‑based architectures and APIs to build platforms that are flexible, scalable, and resilient
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI)
