Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an Azure Engineer for a world-leading technology organization in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area. This hybrid role focuses on securing and maintaining IL5-compliant Azure environments, including VDI and AD services.

The ideal candidate will bring deep Microsoft Azure expertise and experience with secure VDI implementations in regulated settings. Responsibilities include designing and deploying Azure infrastructure, managing AVD/VDI, and ensuring identity

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Azure Engineer, or Systems Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and architecture.
• Proven experience supporting VDI solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop, in IL5 or other regulated environments.
• Strong expertise in Active Directory, Azure AD, group policy, and identity management.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure in IL5-compliant environments.
• Engineer, manage, and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and VDI solutions in regulated environments.
• Implement and maintain Active Directory, Azure AD, and hybrid identity integrations.
• Ensure compliance with DoD IL5 security, governance, and accreditation requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Azure resources for performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with security, networking, and systems teams to support secure cloud operations.
• Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and architectural diagrams.
