Job description

Work Location: Remote & Onsite (1920 Technology Parkway, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050) when required.

Work hours: 8AM to 5PM (hour long lunch)

Start date can be identified upon after compliant PATCH and PSDC-related clearance has been processed and approved.

This req is available to candidates nationwide, but candidates must be ready to relocate for this hybrid position (60% remote vs. 40% onsite). Candidates must go onsite on their first day to pick up commonwealth-issued equipment, possible badging, etc. This position will be funded for another fiscal year (7/1/25 – 6/30/26).

PSDC (Public Safety Delivery Center) requires the services of a Senior Cloud Engineer to act as a consultant with the PSDC Solutions Management group. This person will be part of the team working primarily for the PSDC enterprise team with a strong focus on a multi-cloud environment which includes Microsoft Azure & AWS and will be responsible for both the design and development of Cloud-Native solutions for a wide range of business processes within the PSDC. They must demonstrate their technical expertise and experience by having personally performed these activities during their past projects and engagements rather than just participating on a team that was responsible for these activities. Strong understanding of cloud computing and hands-on experience of migrating workloads to Azure or AWS is required.

Role Description:

1. Design, develop and support Cloud-Native applications and API development using .NET, .NET Core, and Containers.
2. Experience in Microsoft Azure Services (App Service, Service Fabric, Azure Service Bus, API Management, Logic Apps, and Azure Functions).
3. Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure AWS-based solutions.
4. Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services, including EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, and more.
5. Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, Azure AKS, Azure Container Apps, Cloud Foundry).
6. Experience in DevOps tools like Azure DevOps and Library Management tools like Artifactory or NuGet.
7. Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as IaaS/SaaS/PaaS, load balancing, storage, etc.
8. Creating, deploying, configuring, and scaling applications on Azure PaaS.
9. Hands-on experience on Azure storage services like SQL MI, SQL DB, Tables, Files, and Blobs.
10. Good knowledge of Azure IaaS (VMs, VNET, NSG Rules, VPN Gateways, and Express Route).
11. Work collaboratively as a key contributor on an Azure migration/development for a high-performing team.
12. Hands-on experience in implementing RESTful web services and SOAP services in the cloud.
13. Develop integration solutions, including REST APIs, event-driven/queue-based integrations.
14. Candidates should be flexible/willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and is not limited to Applications Development, Support, and Deployment.
15. Must have experience in Software Engineering Techniques, Software Engineering Architecture, Software Engineering Lifecycle, and Data Management.
16. Should be proficient in Business Analysis, Architecture Knowledge, and Technical Solution Design.
17. Supports the configuration, deployment, and execution of CI/CD pipelines in alignment with SDLC methodologies.
18. Knowledge of networking engineering including DNS, Active Directory, Firewall, Load balancers, etc.
