Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer that can build an impactful career in enterprise IT, collaborating with people who are driven and resourceful.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers in the Azure Government cloud.
- Design, implement, and manage Azure networking components including virtual networks, subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN/ExpressRoute, load balancers, and routing.
- Build and manage Azure infrastructure using DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
- Support secure and reliable connectivity across Azure Commercial and Azure IL5 / IL6 environments, including hybrid integrations.
- Utilize automation tools like Ansible or PowerShell scripts to streamline repetitive admin tasks (provisioning new servers, configuring roles/features, or backing up system configurations).
- Monitor system performance, CPU, memory, disk usage and event logs via Azure Monitor or custom scripts.
- Respond to alerts and conduct root cause analysis for any downtime or performance degradation.
- Maintain data backups and recovery procedures for critical systems.
- Address all vulnerabilities identified via system scanning.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of related experience required.
- 10+ years of related experience preferred, with at least 5+ years of preferred experience in database and data management.
- Senior Level system administrator skills required in Linux/Windows environments.
- Experience using Azure Active Directory and Azure Monitor.
- Strong Azure networking skills: VNets, NSGs, routing, Azure Firewall, load balancing, ExpressRoute/VPN.
- Proficiency with IaC and DevOps tooling (Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and secure pipeline development in controlled cloud environments.
- Advanced knowledge using Ansible or PowerShell scripts.
Desired Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
- Microsoft Certified: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions (AZ-305)
- Other work-dependent certifications a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of Azure Cloud services.
- Familiarity with Cloud based Database systems.
- Experience using MS Visio for updating diagrams.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience working in Federal or State government environments.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
Education:
- Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, or equivalent experience.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant field (or equivalent professional experience) is preferred.
