Job summary

Kforce is seeking a hands-on Senior Databricks Engineer in Charlotte, NC to support high-priority data and analytics initiatives. The role involves 90% engineering with some business interaction, and requires independent work, strong questions, and effective technical solution design.

The position is a 12-month contract (on-site; 2 days a week for Contract-to-Hire with Wednesday mandatory; straight contract requires 5 days on-site) with flexible start/end times and 8:00–16:00 hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration or Data Warehousing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.
• Strong understanding of the Azure ecosystem.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Python or Scala.
• Practical data modeling experience and KPI impact awareness.
• Experience with on-premises ETL/ERP technologies (Informatica, IICS, Cognos, Netezza or similar).
• Experience with Power BI, Azure ML, Databricks, Synapse or similar platforms.
• Visa sponsorship is available for this position.
• Azure DevOps and GitHub experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support new and existing data applications and integrations.
• Build, enhance and optimize data solutions using Azure Databricks.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts and data scientists on data products.
• Design and review technical/data-flow solutions.
• Perform code reviews, testing, deployment and production support.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide technical guidance on complex data solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation for downstream integrations.
• Identify technology trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in Scrum/Sprint activities.
