Job summary

Vertex seeks a hands-on Senior Azure Databricks Architect to lead a full platform migration and separation into a new Azure tenant. You will own architecture, governance, security, and the live cutover end-to-end.

This role requires senior expertise in Databricks, Unity Catalog, Entra ID, and Terraform, with a track record of tenant-to-tenant migrations and secure cloud networking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Azure Databricks architecture, administration, operations.
• Real migration leadership - tenant-to-tenant, carve-out, or Unity Catalog migration.
• Strong Azure networking and security background.
• Terraform experience; CI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Databricks tenant-to-tenant migration and platform separation.
• Design and govern Unity Catalog - external locations, RBAC, lineage.
• Rebuild Azure networking and security (Entra ID, Private Link, NSGs, Key Vault).
• Automate the platform with Terraform and CI/CD.
• Run cutover, hypercare, and post-migration validation.

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Azure Databricks Architect to lead a full platform migration and separation into a new Azure tenant. This is an end-to-end ownership role - architecture, governance, security, and the live cutover itself - not a data engineering role with Databricks on the side.
