Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust data engineering solutions using Microsoft Azure
• Build and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
• Optimize data storage and retrieval systems for performance and scalability
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and analysts to design models and enable data-driven insights
• Ensure data integrity through rigorous validation, cleansing, and quality checks
• Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in data pipelines
• Continuously adopt and apply the latest Azure data engineering best practices and technologies

Job Requirements

• Great English proficiency (B2+ Written and spoken)
• 6+ years of experience as a Senior Azure Data Engineer
• Impeccable punctuality (schedules are flexible but being in time for meetings is crucial).
• Proficiency in Python and its use in data engineering contexts
• Deep understanding of Azure services: Data Lake, Spark for Synapse or Azure Databricks, Synapse Pipelines or Azure Data Factory, Mapping Data Flows, Synapse Serverless/SQL Pools, and SQL Server
• Hands-on experience with version control, source control, and CI/CD processes for promoting data artifacts across environments
• Strong data modeling skills: understanding of relationships, entities, facts, and dimensions
• Ability to ingest and process data in a variety of formats, with varying volume, velocity, and veracity
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-starting mindset
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Business acumen and ability to work with stakeholders to interpret and deliver accurate data solutions

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure DevOps for managing data pipeline deployments and environment promotion
• Familiarity with real-time or near-real-time data processing using Azure Stream Analytics or similar tools

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time consultancy, with up to 40 weekly hours during regular business times. We operate under a flexible core hours policy to accommodate various schedules, allowing consultants to perform during their peak productivity times. Additionally, we offer the flexibility to work remotely.
