Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join our Birmingham, AL team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure tailored to client needs, with emphasis on migration, security, and automation.

You will design and deploy Azure resources, manage IaC using Terraform and Bicep, automate tasks with PowerShell and Python, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, compliant cloud solutions for a diverse client base in the IT sector.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on Azure cloud experience.
• Experience with Windows Server and/or Linux in enterprise environments.
• Understanding of DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Azure infrastructure services.
• Support Azure cloud migration from assessment to post-migration support.
• Implement security practices using Azure identity, NSGs, and key management.
• Develop IaC configurations with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Python scripts.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and optimize costs.
• Collaborate with teams to support cloud-based solutions and governance.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Support incident response, maintenance, and on-call duties.
