Job summary

Newmark is seeking a senior cloud engineer with deep Azure expertise to design, implement, and optimize enterprise cloud environments for mission‑critical applications.

Candidates should hold a CS/CE degree (bachelor’s or master’s) with extensive cloud experience, Azure certifications (AZ-303/305) and Terraform Associate, plus IaC tooling, scripting (PowerShell/Python), and a proven focus on security, performance, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS/CE or related field with 10 years of cloud engineering experience.
• Or Master’s degree with 5 years of cloud engineering experience.
• Azure Cloud Architect AZ-303, AZ-305 and Terraform Associate certifications.
• Experience implementing scalable, secure cloud environments on Azure using IaC.
• Ability to script with PowerShell or Python and automate cloud operations.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, monitoring, performance and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage scalable, secure Azure cloud environments.
• Define and apply IaC with Terraform, ARM templates, and Azure DevOps.
• Focus on monitoring, performance, cost optimization, and security.
• Troubleshoot complex cloud issues and automate operations with scripting.

Requirements

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and ten (10) years of experience in cloud engineering and enterprise applications
• or a master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in cloud engineering and enterprise applications
• Certifications Required: Azure Cloud Architect (AZ-303, AZ-305) and Terraform Associate.
• Experience must include the following:
  • Implementing and managing scalable, secure cloud environments;
  • Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates, Azure DevOps);
  • Cloud engineering, with a focus on Microsoft Azure;
  • Implementing and managing scalable, secure cloud environments;
  • Cloud security principles and best practices;
  • Monitoring and optimizing cloud environments, with a focus on performance and cost efficiency;
  • Cloud networking, storage, and compute services within the Azure ecosystem;
  • Troubleshooting with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex cloud-related issues;
  • Working with automation and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline cloud operations.

Salary

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $190,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held.
