Job summary

Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. is seeking a Lead Cloud Architect to own the target-state Azure cloud architecture and oversee the conformance framework across the platform.

You will drive technical direction with senior technology leadership and partner with security, risk, and compliance to meet regulatory demands. You will publish clear standards and reusable Terraform-based patterns, enforce guardrails via Azure Policy, and guide modernization, migration, and cross-domain initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud architecture or infrastructure engineering, with deep Azure enterprise-scale experience.
• Experience in regulated financial services, including exposure to audits and regulatory reviews.
• Proven ability to define target-state architecture and practical standards adopted by engineering teams.
• Expertise in Azure landing zone design, hybrid networking, private connectivity, and identity architecture.
• Strong IaC, CI/CD, and policy-as-code practices (Azure Policy).
• Knowledge of data protection and encryption key management.
• Familiarity with CIS/ISO 27001/NIST control frameworks and translating them into technical controls.
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define the target-state cloud architecture and roadmap with senior technology leadership.
• Publish standards as documentation and reusable patterns: reference implementations, blueprints, and Terraform modules.
• Establish and enforce guardrails through Azure Policy and landing zone controls.
• Partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance to integrate regulatory controls and evidence collection.
• Lead modernization, migration, and optimization initiatives across domains.
• Represent cloud architecture in audit, regulatory, and senior technology forums.
• Raise technical standards through design reviews, coaching, and pattern evangelism.
