Job summary

Inovalon is seeking a Senior Software Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, performance, and operational health of our commercial cloud platforms, with a primary focus on AWS. You will partner with application engineering teams to design resilient systems and drive operational excellence.

Applicants should have 3+ years in SRE/DevOps roles, strong IaC (Terraform) and scripting (Python/PowerShell). The role includes on-call duties and adherence to security and cost-efficiency standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps.
• AWS expertise with hands-on cloud-native infrastructure, networking, storage, and security; familiarity with Azure, GCP, OCI, or Snowflake is a plus.
• Strong infrastructure as code experience; proficiency with Terraform and CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps or Azure Pipelines.
• Scripting in Python, PowerShell, Linux Shell, or comparable languages.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and incident response; familiarity with SLOs/SLIs and error budgets preferred.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux environments; automation and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across engineering, security, and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and enforce governance and standards for Inovalon’s cloud platforms, with a primary focus on AWS.
• Ensure platform solutions meet availability, performance, security, maintainability, and cost-efficiency requirements.
• Design and implement platform-level features and infrastructure using cloud best practices, with a primary focus on AWS.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and comparable tooling; contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
• Develop, gather, and leverage operational metrics to monitor platform health, drive automation, and continuously improve performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with application engineering, product, and security teams to support system design, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
• Discover, review, and influence evolving design, architecture, and standards for cloud-based infrastructure and services.
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
• On Call Policy: Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical issues, including outside standard business hours; respond per SLAs.
