Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to accelerate its State and Local Government & Higher Education business. You will own technical engagements, define architectures, respond to RFPs, and evangelize AWS technologies with customers and partners.

You'll lead deep architectural discussions, mentor others, and travel up to 30% while collaborating with a world-class sales and business development team to deliver cloud-based solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.

Responsibilities

• In partnership with the Sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
• As a key member of the business development and sales team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS (i.e Dev Days or Immersion Days)
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, Service Teams and Support
