Job summary

Quevera is seeking a Senior AWS Solutions Architect to support a Leidos facility in Gaithersburg, MD. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and involves embedded AWS Professional Services to build and scale a petabyte-scale data lake.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Aurora PostgreSQL, containerization (Docker, EKS/ECS/Fargate), CI/CD pipelines, and security controls within a DoD/IC environment, with on-site work in Gaithersburg and occasional travel to VA.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
• Senior AWS Solutions Architect with DoD/IC experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage Aurora PostgreSQL scaling, schema design, and data normalization for a petabyte-scale data lake.
• Onboard numerous data schemas as the environment grows from tens to hundreds/thousands.
• Assist with security controls management and pursuing an Authorization to Operate (ATO) for PII-High data.
• Support Leidos security lead with ATO responsibilities.
• Coach and mentor a junior CI/CD team on modern processes and the build-low, deliver-high approach.
• Expand container capabilities from Amazon EKS to Amazon ECS and AWS Fargate.
• Provide embedded AWS Professional Services support with direct access to the AWS development team.
• Escalate technical matters through AWS Professional Services to Technical Account Managers.

Job Description:

Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Solutions Architect with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support a full-time assignment at a Leidos facility in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

In this role, you will provide embedded AWS Professional Services support while helping the customer develop and scale a petabyte-scale data lake. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded AWS Solutions Architect with hands-on experience in Aurora PostgreSQL, containerized environments, CI/CD pipelines, and security controls within a DoD or Intelligence Community environment.

Travel: Occasional travel to Springfield, VA, or Herndon, VA

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage Aurora PostgreSQL scaling, schema design, and data normalization as the customer develops a petabyte-scale data lake.
• Support the onboarding of numerous disparate data schemas as the environment expands from tens of schemas to potentially hundreds or thousands.
• Assist with security controls management as the team pursues an Authorization to Operate (ATO) for PII-High and additional controlled or “tickets”-type data.
• Support the Leidos security lead with security controls and ATO-related responsibilities.
• Coach and mentor a newly staffed junior CI/CD team on modern Orange processes and the “build low, deliver high” approach.
• Help expand the team’s container capabilities from Amazon EKS to Amazon ECS and AWS Fargate.
• Provide embedded AWS Professional Services support, including direct Slack access to the AWS development team.
• Escalate technical matters through AWS Professional Services channels to Technical Account Managers as needed.
• An active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an IC Green Badge.
• Broad AWS Solutions Architect experience across multiple technologies and services.
• Hands‑on experience with Amazon Aurora and PostgreSQL, including scaling, schema management, data normalization, and data‑lake onboarding.
• Experience with container technologies and services, including Docker, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, and AWS Fargate.
• CI/CD pipeline experience, including the ability to coach and mentor a junior team.
• Familiarity with security controls management and ATO processes in a DoD or Intelligence Community environment, including RMF and PII‑High requirements.
• Availability to work on-site in Gaithersburg, MD.
• Ability to travel occasionally to Springfield, VA, or Herndon, VA.

Desired Skills:

• Advanced PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora expertise.
• Current IC Green Badge and active customer accounts.
• Experience supporting ATO efforts involving PII‑High and controlled or “tickets”-type data.
• Experience modernizing or transitioning workloads from Amazon EKS to Amazon ECS and AWS Fargate.
• Experience coaching and developing junior CI/CD teams on modern practices.
