Job summary

Sovereign Technologies, Inc. is seeking a senior AWS technologist to research and validate resiliency characteristics, design experiments, and collaborate with AWS engineers and client teams to deliver resilient cloud solutions.

This role sits on the Business Unit Senior Leadership team and may mentor delivery teams. Responsibilities include leading AWS infrastructure work, data lake implementations, security and data governance, and DevOps practices across a hybrid cloud environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; travel required.
Extensive experience administering Hadoop and Spark clusters; hybrid environment experience.
Strong AWS knowledge across VPC, subnets, S3, RDS, EC2, Glacier, Lambda, IAM, encryption, DR.
Proficiency with DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile tools (Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence).
Ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience mentoring team members and handling multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and implement analytical data lakes and AWS best practices.
Deep AWS infrastructure knowledge including security, data encryption, and disaster recovery.
Support scalable Big Data platform deployment for secure data collection, storage, and analysis.
Collaborate with DevOps, IT Operations, and Data Engineering for resilient solutions.
Provide mentorship and training to team members; align with business goals.
Define high availability and resilience standards for AWS services.
