Job summary

System One is seeking a Senior AWS Python Developer in Birmingham, AL to support a Financial Crimes tech portfolio. You will develop, enhance, and maintain data-driven applications in an AWS-heavy environment, leveraging Python, AWS services, and SQL.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong practical AWS experience with core services.
• SQL skills with large datasets and data processing.
• Data engineering or data-intensive application background.
• Hands-on Redshift experience and container knowledge.
• Familiarity with IAM, Secrets Manager, and security practices.
• Experience with DevOps concepts and CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Python-based data solutions.
• Build solutions leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EC2, ECS/EKS, and Redshift.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and data processing workflows.
• Work with large datasets to support applications and analytics.
• Implement monitoring using AWS CloudWatch and related services.
• Apply AWS security practices including IAM and Secrets Manager.
• Participate in CI/CD, deployment, and troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and business teams in a financial services environment.
