Job summary

Strategic Business Systems, Inc. (SBS) in Chantilly, VA, is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to join our cloud engineering team. You will help build, automate, and operate secure AWS infrastructures to support government missions.

The role emphasizes IaC, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-native deployments, with collaboration across security and development teams. Onsite work in Chantilly is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience deploying workloads in AWS.
• Experience with IaC using AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Git and modern source-control practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy, configure, and maintain secure AWS cloud infrastructure for mission-critical apps.
• Develop and maintain IaC using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and/or Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, provisioning, and deployments.
• Support cloud-native and serverless apps using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, SQS).
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized workloads and related AWS infrastructure.
• Assist cloud security and compliance efforts with least-privilege controls and IAM.
