Job summary
SAIC is seeking a Sr. AWS Data Engineer to lead modernization of our healthcare data platform. This remote role focuses on designing scalable AWS architectures and enabling analysts to run SQL-based reports against healthcare data.
You will migrate XML data from MSSQL to AWS, build data catalogs, optimize performance and cost, and collaborate with C#/.NET engineers. Experience with S3, Athena, Glue, Redshift, and CI/CD tooling is required; US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of software or data engineering with strong AWS focus.
- Experience migrating cloud data platforms in production healthcare environments.
- Track record evaluating AWS data services for reporting needs.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and recommend AWS-native storage and query architectures for XML data.
- Design and build reporting layers enabling SQL queries for business users.
- Migrate XML object store data from MSSQL into AWS platform.
- Build and maintain AWS data catalog, schemas, and metadata management.
- Optimize performance and cost across AWS services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into data models.
- Work with C#/.NET engineers to ensure data flows from EDI pipelines.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS tooling and IaC.
