Atrium Staffing is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer for their New York City team. This hands-on role focuses on ownership of scalable data pipelines and architecture, collaborating with analytics, data science, and business units.

The ideal candidate has strong AWS/SQL experience, a background in data modeling and warehousing, and will work on design through deployment in a fast-growing environment. Onsite 4 days/week in NYC is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
• Expert-level SQL skills with complex queries and performance tuning.
• Strong hands-on AWS data ecosystem experience (S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, EMR).
• Experience with Redshift and enterprise data warehousing.
• Ability to own solutions from design to deployment.
• Onsite in NYC 4 days per week.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data architecture within AWS.
• Build and manage data models and schemas for a data warehouse.
• Develop reusable data solutions using AWS services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, EMR, Redshift).
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries across large datasets.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data jobs, pipelines, and platform performance.
• Implement data quality checks, validation, monitoring, and alerting.
• Support dimensional modeling and star schemas for enterprise warehousing.
• Partner with Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, and business teams on data requirements.
• Improve data lineage, documentation, governance, and reusable engineering practices.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile development.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with offshore teams.
