Job summary

Artifintech in Newark, NJ is seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data pipelines and data lake architecture on AWS, guiding a team of data engineers toward best practices.

You will work with services like Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, EMR, Kinesis, Athena and RDS, mentor engineers, collaborate with data scientists and analysts, migrate legacy data, enforce governance, and promote DevOps and IaC within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years in data engineering with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services and data lake/warehouse design.
• Proficient in Python, SQL; Shell scripting or Scala a plus.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of large-scale data pipelines and data lake architecture on AWS.
• Architect and implement end-to-end data solutions including ingestion, storage, transformation, and analytics.
• Mentor and guide a team of data engineers, conducting code reviews and promoting best practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Oversee migration of data from legacy systems to AWS data lakes and warehouses.
• Develop and enforce standards for data quality, security, and governance.
• Drive DevOps adoption, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Ensure solutions are cost-efficient and aligned with enterprise data strategy.
• Stay current with AWS technologies and evaluate new tools for potential adoption.
