Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions is hiring an AWS Data Engineer in Newark, NJ to design and maintain scalable data pipelines on AWS. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts and business stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions across data lakes and warehouses.

The role involves building ingestion workflows from on-prem to AWS, implementing ETL/ELT processes, and migrating data to AWS data stores.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent
• 5 years of experience implementing and supporting data lakes, data warehouses and data applications on AWS for large enterprises
• Strong programming experience with Python, Shell scripting and SQL
• Experience with AWS data services and serverless architectures
• Experience in ETL/ELT, data modeling and cloud data warehousing concepts

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines and architectures on AWS
• Build ingestion pipelines from on-prem to AWS and within AWS
• Develop and manage ETL/ELT processes across multiple sources
• Architect end-to-end data solutions focusing on data lakes and data warehouses
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and stakeholders
• Perform hands-on development, testing and code reviews
• Implement serverless apps using AWS Lambda, API Gateway and Step Functions
• Migrate data to AWS data lakes (S3, RDS, Aurora, Redshift)
• Implement streaming using Kinesis, SQS and Kafka
• Define CICD strategies for enterprise data platforms
• Work with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC
• POC new tools and ensure cost, reliability and scalability
