Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to manage and secure cloud and on-premises infrastructure in a 100% remote, U.S.-based role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. You will drive AWS cloud environments, Windows and Linux systems, high availability, security best practices, and automation with IaC tools.

Applicants should have 8+ years of experience, a Public Trust clearance, and a Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years of professional experience in system administration with a focus on cloud infrastructure.
• Experience managing complex AWS environments and high-availability architectures.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level maintenance, support, and upgrades for OS and server hardware.
• Coordinate software installations and upgrades for operating systems and packages.
• Monitor and tune multiple systems for optimum performance and data integrity.
• Plan server modernization and develop SOPs and schedules.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with standards and configurations.
