Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer

Full Time Remote (San Antonio-based Individuals Preferred)

Job Responsibilities

Will provide subject matter proficiency for work described in the task. Responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements.

Job Description

• Must have experience with using and provisioning cloud services (AWS).
• Must provide subject matter expertise with application lifecycle management as it pertains to containerized Kubernetes clustered environments.
• Responsible for the installation, orchestration, execution, configuration, security, and validation of clusters.
• Must have a thorough understanding of networking and DNS, scheduling, troubleshooting, logging, and monitoring of relevant areas.
• Participates in establishing architectural standards that enable DevOps practices like infrastructure as code, policy as code, and CI/CD.
• Proficiency in AWS tools such as: Kubernetes, EKS, Diode, Lambda, etc. (not all inclusive) orchestrated/deployed in a cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience (6-8 yrs.) as a DevOps Engineer, AWS Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency with AWS services (EKS, CloudFormation, Lambda, S3, EC2, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control.
• Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Java, Bash, etc.) for automation tasks.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Five (5) years applied experience on containerized platforms.
• IAT II Certification.
• Secret clearance.
• AWS Kubernetes CKA certification or training and at least two of the listed AWS certifications (or training). Three (3) years relevant experience may be substituted for each certification.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification or training.
  • AWS SysOps Administrator Certification or training (desired).
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Certification or training (desired).
