Job summary

Apex Fintech Solutions seeks a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to own the architecture and operations of a multi-region, serverless AWS WorkSpaces platform for a fintech environment. You will drive new capabilities, ensure security/compliance, and serve as the go-to expert for production incidents.

You will mentor engineers, manage Terraform-based infrastructure, and own Datadog observability and SLOs for the VDI stack, ensuring high availability and reliability in a regulated fintech setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on AWS experience.
• 3+ years with serverless or event-driven architecture in production.
• 2+ years with Amazon WorkSpaces in production environment.
• Multi-region AWS deployment experience; CCR or active-active DR is a plus.
• Proven Python Lambda development in production.
• 2+ years of Terraform to manage production AWS infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform architecture, code quality, and evolution; drive new capabilities and Terraform IaC.
• Serve as primary escalation point for engineering questions about the system.
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents quickly; trace end-to-end across Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, SNS, CloudWatch.
• Support day-to-day VDI operations: image builds, bundle management, directory configuration, client connectivity.
• Bridge gap between infrastructure automation and end-user desktop experience.
• Mentor junior engineers on AWS serverless architecture and production troubleshooting.
• Own deployment and integration of Datadog monitoring for the AWS VDI stack.
