Job summary

American Chemical Society (ACS) is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer/Architect in the Publications/GTS division to design and manage AWS-based cloud solutions. You will implement scalable infrastructure, code deployments, and security practices in collaboration with software and AI teams.

The role is based in Columbus, OH (or Washington DC) with travel as needed and a focus on cost optimization, automation, and robust operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud engineering or development with AWS experience.
• Strong Linux, networking, and security/compliance knowledge.
• Experience with IaC and container orchestration (Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions at scale.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and communicate cloud services impact across teams.
• Implement and manage AWS-based infrastructure with security and compliance in mind.
• Develop infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead collaboration with software and AI teams and mentor junior staff.
• Manage multi-environment deployments and optimize costs.
