Job summary

SIU Foundation seeks an accomplished AVP for Financial & Administrative Affairs and Assistant Treasurer to lead treasury operations for Southern Illinois University and its campuses. The role drives cash management, investments, debt, tax compliance, and external financial relations while advising the CFO and Board on strategy.

The ideal candidate will manage a treasury team, foster cross‑functional collaboration, and ensure sound fiduciary practices in a complex public higher education

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience directing treasury operations in a complex institution.
Strong leadership and staff development capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for senior leadership and Boards.

Responsibilities

Directs treasury and cash management, liquidity strategy, and banking relationships.
Oversees debt management and capital finance activities, including bond issuances and reporting.
Supervises tax compliance and coordinates with external authorities.
Leads policy development to ensure compliance with laws and Board policies.
Represents the University in external financial relations and advisory roles.
