Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Columbus, OH, seeks a Senior AVP for NF Quantitative Risk Management to oversee hedge strategies, design the enterprise Economic Scenario Generator, and guide actuarial analytics across protection, investment and retirement lines.

You will lead a team, collaborate with product leadership and investments, evaluate AI/ML tools, and manage risk reporting. Ten+ years in actuarial roles and FSA/MAAA CQF preferred are expected.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or similar mathematical training.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) required; Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
• Certificate of Quantitative Finance (CQF) or similar financial engineering credential preferred.
• Typically, ten or more years of actuarial related experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hedge program development and reporting for NF hedging across products.
• Manage stochastic, GPU-based modeling infrastructure for pricing and risk.
• Design quantitative strategies to support life and annuity businesses.
• Collaborate with product leadership and Office of Investments on index development.
• Evaluate new risk tools including AI/ML for hedging projections.
• Oversee the Enterprise Economic Scenario Generator for enterprise-wide projections.
• Lead associate management including performance and development.
