Job summary

Arnot Health seeks an Assistant Vice President of Facilities, Maintenance & Planning to guide the health system's built environment across multiple campuses. You will oversee strategy, safety, and efficiency while aligning facility investments with clinical growth.

You will collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial leaders to ensure regulatory readiness, energy management, and ROI on major construction and modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or health related field required.
• Master's degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
• Experience 10+ years of progressive leadership in healthcare facilities management, construction, or capital planning.
• Experience overseeing large-scale capital projects ($50M+).

Responsibilities

• Lead the system-wide master facility plan, ensuring alignment with clinical service line growth, population health needs, and long-term capital strategy.
• Develop multi-year capital investment roadmaps, prioritizing safety, regulatory compliance, modernization, and ROI.
• Serve as executive sponsor for major construction and renovation initiatives, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of buildings, utilities, and clinical infrastructure.
• Drive modernization of building systems, including energy management, sustainability initiatives, and smart-facility technologies.
• Lead planning, design, procurement, and execution of all construction and renovation projects across the system.
• Manage relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and external partners.
• Implement standardized project governance, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure continuous readiness for regulatory surveys and accreditation.
• Oversee emergency preparedness for infrastructure-related events (power failures, weather events, system outages).
• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for facilities, maintenance, and planning functions.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, energy efficiency, and operational improvements.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of directors, managers, engineers, and skilled trades.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
