Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a PCBA Inspector in California to perform receiving inspections of PCBA and avionics systems, ensuring compliance with NASA and IPC standards. You will travel to supplier sites to conduct audits, maintain detailed records, and stay current with industry practices.

The role requires 2+ years in PCBA inspection, strong solder joint and SMD inspection skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a PCBA Inspector in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a quality function.
• Ability to travel up to 50-80%.
• Proficient in inspecting solder joints, crimping, conformal coating, staking, and surface-mounted devices in accordance with NASA 8739 and/or IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 standards.
• Knowledge of cable harness assembly and inspection following NASA-STD-8739.3 and 8739.4 and/or IPC-A-620 standards.
• Experienced in conducting continuity test using DMM and inspection using portable measuring devices.
• Familiar with avionics systems, components, and installations; ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• High attention to detail for thorough inspections and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspections of PCBA and quality assurance checks on avionics systems and subassemblies to ensure regulatory compliance and policy adherence.
• Travel to supplier sites (local and domestic) to conduct source inspections, audits, and support supplier quality activities.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation for avionics components and systems.
• Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to avionics QA and inspection processes.
• Provide guidance and training to team members on avionics QA inspection techniques.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations and best practices.
