Job summary

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Senior Avionics Integration Engineer to support the ACS Directorate at Wright Patterson AFB. The role requires applying engineering management and integration expertise to ensure successful program delivery in the LAIRCM program.

Collaborate with AFLCMC and base facilities, perform system requirements development, verification, and documentation, and lead technical reviews. Must hold US citizenship and a secret clearance; DoD experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship required.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.
  • 10 years in the field, 5 in DoD, or 12 years with 5 in DoD.

Responsibilities

  • Support avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, verification, modeling/simulation, and testing.
  • Define system requirements and ensure compliance through testing and certification.
  • Develop, review, and maintain technical docs including ICDs and ECPs.
  • Analyze avionics systems/subsystems and interfaces.
  • Coordinate across security, logistics, test, PA, and facility teams.
  • Participate in Technology Insertion discussions and CCBs.
  • Perform failure analysis and cost-effective reliability improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Applied Research Solutions is looking for a Senior Avionics Integration Engineer to support the Agile Combat Support (ACS) Directorate at WPAFB, AFB in the LAIRCM program. The Senior Avionics Integration Engineer will be expected to apply their knowledge, skills, abilities, and accomplish Engineering Management tasks and interact with lateral AFLCMC organizations or any external agencies required including base facility, personnel, security, computer support, foreign disclosure, foreign travel, public affairs, test organizations and the building managers to facilitate and support uninterrupted day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, verification (including ICD review), modeling/simulation, and testing activities.
  • Apply knowledge of CNS/ATM requirements, policies, and regulations to define system requirements and ensure compliance through testing and certification.
  • Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of technical documentation including system requirements, engineering change proposals (ECPs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Conduct analyses of avionics systems/subsystems, including system threat analysis, computer and laser systems, multiplex communications, and avionics interfaces.
  • Identify and assess areas of technical improvement or risk for Government consideration.
  • Provide engineering management support and coordinate across multiple functional organizations including security, logistics, test, public affairs, and facility teams.
  • Participate in Technology Insertion discussions, Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and technical/programmatic reviews.
  • Perform failure analysis and support development of cost-effective solutions to enhance system reliability and maintainability.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD
  • OR, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
