The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists and engineers, you will shepherd our existing engineering development unit avionics systems through ATP and QTP testing and help ensure we deliver the highest quality, most reliable avionics' hardware under budget and within schedule.

You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of development, manufacturing, and operation of satellite systems to address one of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space mobility!

Responsibilities

  • Design and own circuit card designs
  • Lead testing efforts in our Labs
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure detailed integration and performance of avionics systems
  • Develop and implement testing protocols to validate design integrity
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Find and address potential design risks and implement effective mitigation strategies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • A breadth of understanding and expertise in electronics hardware development such as developing sophisticated circuit cards, consumer electronics, wireless devices, or other electronic commercial or aerospace products
  • 8+ years of experience crafting and testing analog, high-speed digital, or mixed-signal circuits, including part selection, analysis, simulation, laboratory testing, and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of signal-integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles
  • Experience bringing Avionics Hardware through qualification testing
  • Experience with high-speed serial bus design and optimization
  • Experience with schematic-capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer (preferable) or Cadence OrCAD / Cadence Allegro tool suites
  • Familiar with many of the following parts and their usage: ADCs, DACs, OpAmps, power supplies (linear, LDO, DC/DC), microcontrollers, processors, volatile memory (DDR), non-volatile memory (NAND, NOR, etc.), and MOSFETs
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related fields
  • Successful candidates typically have 10+ years of experience in design, development, and test
  • Understanding of industry-standard communication protocols including Ethernet, IEEE 1588, and NTP v.4
  • Experience leading efforts in collaboration with multi-functional teams for up-screening and qualification of commercial-grade parts for use in space environments
  • Familiarity with space hardware testing standards and practices for communication systems
  • Eligibility to acquire a US government security clearance

Compensation Range For

WA applicants is $152,235.00-$213,127.95
