Job summary

Reliable Robotics Corporation in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer to lead development of electrical components and subsystems for airborne and test platforms.

You will design, analyze, document, test, and troubleshoot hardware from circuit boards to integrated systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving hardware improvements through bench and on-aircraft testing; travel 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of full-lifecycle hardware development in a professional environment.
  • Experience with Altium Designer and SPICE.
  • Experience designing electronics for aerospace/harsh environments.
  • Willingness to travel 10%.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of electrical components and subsystems from PCB level to integrated systems.
  • Design, analyze, document, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing and test engineers.
  • Drive hardware improvements through benchtop, environmental, and on-aircraft testing.
  • Perform root-cause investigations in safety-critical environments.
  • Contribute to continual process improvements and technical leadership.

Job description

  • The Avionics Hardware team is a small group of highly motivated engineers who develop the core compute, actuation, sensing, and power electronics products at the heart of our automation system
  • We enjoy cradle-to-grave hardware ownership and hands-on test, iteration, and deployment of our designs
  • As a Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will lead development of electrical components and sub-systems across our airborne and test platforms from the circuit-board level up through integrated systems and everything in between
  • In your role as Sr Avionics Hardware Engineer, you will design, analyze, document, test, and troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the circuit board through integrated electro-mechanical level
  • You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, software, manufacturing and test engineers as the expert on your hardware
  • You will drive improvements to the hardware through benchtop, environmental, and on-aircraft testing, and perform root-cause investigations to characterize, document, and rectify anomalous behavior in a safety-critical environment
  • You will contribute to continuous improvement of the team’s development processes and practices through technical leadership
