Job summary

Breeze Airways in Plano, TX is seeking an Avionics and Electrical Systems Engineer to develop repairs, evaluate new technologies, and manage airworthiness for aircraft avionics and electrical systems on Airbus and Embraer platforms.

The role supports flight/technical operations, line and heavy maintenance, and requires deep regulatory knowledge, strong problem solving, and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Engineering with Avionics/Electrical Systems concentration.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience relating to aircraft avionics/electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of avionics architecture, Flight Management Systems, and data link protocols.
  • Experience with ARINC-429/717 data bus and IP security.
  • 5+ years in technical report writing for test plans, results, load analyses, and regulatory reports.
  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR Part 21, 25, 91, and 121.
  • 2+ years in a Part 121 environment.
  • Knowledge of Embraer and Airbus avionics and systems.
  • Able to travel internationally.
  • Authorized to work in the US under applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Review Airworthiness Directives (AD) and ensure FAA/ANAC compliance.
  • Disposition avionics/electrical system SBs, modifications, and docs for safety and reliability.
  • Serve as focal point for technical issues with avionics and electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with flight/ops to define voice and datalink applications and OPS software.
  • Develop avionics installations and upgrades to meet airworthiness and ops needs.
  • Evaluate new avionics technologies for value to airline operations.
  • Prepare technical data for modifications, repairs, and troubleshooting.
  • Obtain regulatory approvals for modifications/repairs on avionics and components.
  • Develop customized procedures for repairs and inspections not in manuals.
  • Prepare Engineering Orders for dispositions benefiting Breeze objectives.
  • Establish build specs for avionics and components.
  • Provide on-site technical support at MROs during modifications/AOG.
  • Other duties as assigned.
