Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Systems / Software Engineer to join the NAVTAC II program in Arlington, VA. The role involves supporting FAA navigation, landing, and lighting systems, and providing software assurance, operational analysis and risk assessment for satellite navigation systems.

The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to evaluate software development and compliance, scope projects, and advise on documentation and updates to government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with software specification, requirements development and traceability.
• Knowledge of C, C++ and object‑oriented development in UNIX environments.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and study complex system requirements and manage software development using formal specifications and IBM Rational tools.
• Evaluate development/maintenance of software programs and related hardware in a multi‑disciplinary systems engineering team.
• Interpret requirements and design specs to code and test; participate in total systems engineering development.
• Conduct audits for RTCA DO‑178B/278/254 software assurance and complex electronic devices compliance.
• Provide technical support for new software‑intensive procurements and estimate costs/schedules.
• Advise the government on acceptance of technical documentation and contractor software updates.
• Support Best Practices documentation across products and deliverables.
