Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Aviation Project Manager to help manage and grow our Florida Aviation group. The role covers projects from small general aviation airports to large hub airports, including airfield pavement projects and master plan updates.

The position may be based in several Florida locations, with responsibility for project management, design coordination, and grant administration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience managing projects within airport infrastructure design and construction administration in Florida.
• Florida PE license or ability to obtain within 60 days; licenses in other states a plus.

Responsibilities

• Managing clients, attending airport commission meetings, and guiding Airport Managers and Client staff.
• In-depth knowledge of CIP projects and upcoming capital needs.
• Prepares Scope of Services, goals, milestones, procedures, defines roles, coordinates resources, and monitors progress.
• Work with design team on deliverables including AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings and cost estimates.
• Preparing FAA Airport Improvement Program grant paperwork and state grants.
• Provides guidance to Resident Engineers during construction and solves issues as needed.
• Approves contractor pay estimates and leads discussions with contractors.
• Leads preparation of proposals and statements of qualifications.
• Participates in marketing by delivering quality work and pursuing project opportunities.
• Mentors team members to promote high performance.

Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Senior Aviation Project Manager to join our team and help manage and grow our Florida Aviation group! This position will be responsible for managing and delivering projects for clients at small General Aviation airports to large hub commercial service airports, within our Infrastructure Aviation team.

Projects will include conceptual designs and technical reports, airspace analyses, master plan updates and other planning studies, construction or rehabilitation of airfield pavements such as runways, taxiways and aprons, and other miscellaneous improvements. This position may be based in Tampa, Orlando, Coral Gables, Miami, West Palm Beach, Deerfield Beach, or Jacksonville, Florida.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Managing clients, attending, and participating in airport commission meetings, and providing guidance to Airport Managers, Airport Commissions, or Client Engineering Staff.

• In-depth knowledge of clients’ needs and upcoming Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects.

• Prepares project Scope of Services and engineering fees, establishes project goals, milestones, and procedures, defines roles and responsibilities, coordinates project resources, and monitors project progress.

• Work with the design team on deliverables, including preparation of drawings utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, preparation of project specifications and construction cost estimates.

• Preparing grant administration paperwork for the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) Airport Improvement Program (AIP), as well as State grant administration.

• Provides guidance to Resident Engineers during construction with the ability and confidence to solve problems as needed.

• Approves contractor’s pay estimates and leads discussions with contractors.

• Lead the preparation of proposals and statements of qualifications.

• Actively participates in the marketing process by delivering quality work, providing excellent client service, and assisting with project pursuits.

• Takes active mentoring role; encourages, motivates, and develops others for high performance.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

• 10+years of progressive experience managing projects within airport infrastructure design and construction administration. Florida experience is expected.

• PE license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 60 days); licenses in other states a plus.

Pay Transparency:

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
