Job summary

Life Cycle Engineering in San Diego is seeking a Senior Aviation Logistics Specialist to plan and coordinate military aviation training and expeditionary operations. The role interfaces with MAGTF, FAA, and civil-military partners to ensure readiness and effective airspace coordination.

You will develop exercise plans, track resources, and produce clear written materials and briefings, requiring a DoD Secret clearance and travel as needed. This is a hands-on senior role.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in aviation management, logistics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in military aviation operations.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Experience with MAGTF, expeditionary, amphibious, distributed operations.
  • Knowledge of FAA coordination and civil-military airspace.
  • Strong written and briefing materials creation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain exercise plans, schedules, coordination products, site surveys, briefing materials, and after-action documentation.
  • Support aviation operations planning across MAGTF, expeditionary, amphibious, maritime, and distributed environments.
  • Assist units with operational concepts, mission profiles, airfield requirements, training objectives, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with FAA, DoD, installation, and local authorities on airspace requirements (SUA, ALTRVs, NOTAMs, TFRs, parachute ops).
  • Maintain awareness of NAS, military training routes, air traffic procedures, and civil-military coordination requirements.
  • Coordinate aviation risk management and identify airspace, weather, safety, environmental, security, and operational risks.
  • Support deconfliction of military aviation activities with civilian air traffic and commercial airport operations.
  • Develop and coordinate logistics for mobilization, staging, sustainment, redeployment, and retrograde operations.
  • Plan and track fuel, GSE, ramp space, hangars, maintenance, transportation, comms, security, lodging, and other resources.
  • Coordinate airfield, ramp, and infrastructure support with installation personnel, airport authorities, vendors, and participants.
  • Track facilities, property, equipment, cost estimates, funding inputs, accountability actions.
  • Identify permitting, access, environmental, security, and facility constraints and elevate issues.
  • Participate in planning conferences, execution meetings, synchronization sessions, and post-exercise reviews.
  • Establish relationships with military commands, installation staff, FAA reps, air traffic orgs, civilian airports, state/local offices, and private sector providers.
  • Coordinate working groups, planning conferences, site visits, stakeholder engagements, and executive briefings.
  • Translate operational requirements into taskings, schedules, resource needs, and decision points.
  • Track stakeholder commitments, approvals, open actions, and interdependencies.
  • Resolve routine coordination issues and elevate matters requiring policy/contract decisions.
  • Represent the organization professionally in meetings with stakeholders.
