Senior AVD Operations Specialist

We are looking for an experienced IT professional to join our Virtual Workplace team in Prague, Brno, or Ostrava, working alongside our global colleagues (Denmark/Philippines), vendors, and partners to advise on, build, operate, and support our customers’ AVD solutions across the EU.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership, design scalable and secure AVD-based solutions, and mentor junior team members. Your expertise in AVD and Azure cloud technologies, combined with strong soft skills, will be instrumental in driving the success of our organization's cloud strategy.

This role requires you to utilize Agile, ITIL, and DevOps principles in both technical and business contexts, enabling us to deliver not only what our customers want—but what they truly need.

Your Responsibilities

• AVD Design and Management: Lead the implementation and management of complex AVD solutions, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity services.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure adherence to security best practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Automation and Optimization: Drive automation initiatives to streamline operations and optimize resource utilization in Azure environments. Develop automation scripts, templates, and workflows using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Pipelines, RunBooks, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Establish monitoring and alerting mechanisms to proactively manage the health and performance of AVD/Azure resources. Identify bottlenecks and recommend optimizations for efficiency and scalability.
• Deployment and Configuration Management: Configure and operate AVD services and solutions, ensuring best practices for security, high availability, and scalability. Use in-house developed platform for automated delivery, configuration and management.
• Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Act as a subject matter expert in troubleshooting complex AVD issues. Lead incident response efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize impact and downtime.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Work with architects, developers, and operations teams to design and implement AVD-based solutions. Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and best practice guidelines. Conduct internal training sessions and presentations. Share knowledge, experience and insights.
• Citrix Virtualization: Openness to learning Citrix is expected; prior experience or knowledge is a plus

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft AVD and Azure cloud services
• Strong expertise in implementing and managing AVD cloud solutions
• In-depth knowledge of AVD services, compliance standards, and identity and access management (IAM)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD and configuration management
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, with a strong customer focus
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, including MS technologies, Citrix, and more

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Certification: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) or equivalent
• Experience with Citrix technologies
• Experience in cloud architecture and design
