Job summary

truckingpeople seeks a Senior AV Technician in Austin, TX, to lead installation and integration of complex vehicle hardware. This in-person role requires hands-on expertise across mechanical, electrical, and field operations, guiding technicians and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure builds meet specs and testing runs smoothly.

You will mentor junior staff, manage field deployments, and maintain safety and quality standards while partnering with QA and operations to improve hardware

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in automotive service, robotics, or related mechatronics.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and diagnostics.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system-level issues.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel locally for field support.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in warehouse/outdoor sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and integration of sensors, compute modules, wiring harnesses, and electronics.
• Troubleshoot advanced mechanical, electrical, and system-integration issues across platforms.
• Oversee preventative maintenance, retrofits, and system upgrades for reliability.
• Provide on-site technical leadership during deployments and testing.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, QA to feedback field learnings.
• Maintain documentation, tools, inventory, and ensure safety/quality standards.
• Mentor and train junior technicians.
