LIGHTWORKS designs, installs and supports AV, networking, lighting control, electrical, shades and smart-home systems for sophisticated custom residences in San Diego. This role demands hands-on problem solving across programming, commissioning and troubleshooting of Savant, Crestron Home and Lutron systems.

You will lead Quick Turn projects (five days or less), coordinate technicians, and ensure client satisfaction through clear communication and reliable system performance.

Formación

• Significant residential AV and smart-home experience.
• Strong Savant programming and commissioning experience.
• Lutron HomeWorks programming, commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
• Crestron Home or similar programming experience.
• Strong residential networking, Wi-Fi and advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with distributed audio/video and home theater.
• Excellent wiring, termination and rack-management skills.
• Ability to read architectural, electrical and AV drawings.
• Strong client-facing communication and independent decision‑making skills.
• Experience leading technicians or small projects; strong organization and follow-through.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and resolve AV, control, networking and smart-home issues.
• Program, modify and recommission Savant systems.
• Make programming changes to Crestron Home and supported control systems.
• Program, commission and troubleshoot Lutron HomeWorks and other Lutron systems.
• Configure keypads, scenes, devices, schedules and system logic.
• Configure and troubleshoot residential networks and Wi-Fi.
• Commission distributed audio, video and home theater systems.
• Diagnose wiring, power, communication, programming and equipment failures.
• Perform firmware updates, equipment replacements and system upgrades.
• Test complete system operation and clearly communicate issues, solutions and next steps to clients.
• Take ownership of smaller Quick Turn projects; manage scope and readiness.
• Program and configure required systems and coordinate technicians/resources.
• Lead onsite execution and resolve technical issues quickly.

LIGHTWORKS is looking for an experienced Senior AV Service Technician & Quick Turn Projects Lead to join our San Diego team.

This role is for someone who can do more than diagnose a problem. You need to be able to troubleshoot, program, modify, recommission and complete residential technology systems without escalating every technical issue to another programmer.

You will also lead our Quick Turn Jobs - projects designed to be completed in five working days or less.

Service, Programming & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve AV, control, networking and smart-home issues.


• Program, modify and recommission Savant systems.


• Make programming changes to Crestron Home and supported control systems.


• Program, commission and troubleshoot Lutron HomeWorks and other Lutron systems.


• Configure keypads, scenes, devices, schedules and system logic.


• Configure and troubleshoot residential networks and Wi-Fi.


• Commission distributed audio, video and home theater systems.


• Diagnose wiring, power, communication, programming and equipment failures.


• Perform firmware updates, equipment replacements and system upgrades.


• Test complete system operation and clearly communicate issues, solutions and next steps to clients.

Lead Quick Turn Jobs

• Take ownership of smaller projects designed to be completed in five working days or less.


• Review scope and confirm equipment, labor and site readiness before work begins.


• Program and configure required systems and coordinate technicians/resources.


• Lead onsite execution and resolve technical issues quickly.


• Keep clients and the LIGHTWORKS team informed.


• Complete punch-list and closeout and verify the finished system is programmed, tested and operating correctly.
