Job summary

Network Cabling Services (NCS) is seeking an experienced AV Programmer in the Houston area. The role focuses on designing, testing, and implementing control systems for Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, and DSP platforms, with on-site deployments and client collaboration.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of AV programming experience, CTS-I or manufacturer certifications considered, and strong skills in AutoCAD drawings and AV networking.

Qualifications

• Formal education or training in electronics, IT, software, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience programming AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, Valcom, and various DSP platforms) required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret AV system drawings, schematics, and signal flow diagrams.
• Gather and document programming requirements from engineering designs and client specifications.
• Design, create, and test new control system modules and custom touch panel / GUI interfaces.
• Program control processors, touch panels, audio DSPs, and AV peripherals (Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, Biamp, Valcom).
• Perform system commissioning, pre-installation checkout, and testing of code during deployment.
• On-site troubleshooting and provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
• Create end-user training materials, as-built documentation, and other program-related documents.
• Participate in peer code reviews to support code quality and consistency.
• Update and maintain programming code in installed systems.
• Maintain control code in a version control system.
• Travel to various job sites as needed.
