Job summary

NVIDIA in Santa Clara, California is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AV Planner to develop behavior and trajectory planning for an L4 robotaxi in dense urban environments. You will design planning modules, implement safe, comfort-focused planning with vehicle dynamics, and integrate planning with prediction, perception, mapping and controls, while advancing evaluation pipelines.

Base salary range is 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD annually; equity and benefits are also provided.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in CS/EE/Robotics/ME or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in the relevant field.
• Strong C/C++ software engineering skills; Python is a plus.
• Experience in motion planning, optimization, and real-time systems.
• Experience with simulation and evaluation pipelines; testing and automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ship behavior and trajectory planning for an L4 robotaxi.
• Design planning technologies for the AV software stack.
• Build optimization-, sampling-, and/or search-based planning approaches with vehicle dynamics and constraints.
• Define fallback and degraded-mode behaviors with safety-focused design.
• Integrate planning with prediction, perception, mapping/localization, and controls; troubleshoot end-to-end issues.
