Job summary

The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa is looking for an experienced Audio Visual Manager to lead and optimize all event AV operations, from setup to breakdown, ensuring flawless delivery of luxury experiences. You will manage a team of AV technicians, coordinate with clients and vendors, and uphold the hotel’s high standards of discretion and service.

This on-site role requires strong technical and hospitality finesse in Houston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in AV operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency with AV systems (Crestron, Q-SYS, Dante, Shure, etc.).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of camera and lighting techniques; AV editing equipment/software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily AV operations for events, meetings, and presentations.
• Ensure all AV equipment is properly maintained, stored, and operational.
• Coordinate AV setup and breakdown for events, ensuring timeliness and quality.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in real-time during events.
• Hire, train, and supervise AV technicians and support staff; create staff schedules.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching.
• Collaborate with event planners, clients, and internal teams to understand AV requirements; site visits.
• Provide on-site support and client-facing service during events.
