Job summary

ISEE in Dallas seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to design and test control systems for autonomous vehicles. You will build models, test algorithms, and analyze results to improve dynamic performance at both component and system levels.

The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience, with a strong background in mechatronics, robotics, and controls, plus excellent communication skills. You will contribute to architecture decisions and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a technical discipline (Masters+ preferred).
• Background in feedback control theory: time/frequency domains, stability, system identification, optimal control.
• HIL testing and signal processing experience.
• Strong MATLAB/Simulink proficiency.
• Excellent communication skills across teams.
• Passion for self-driving cars and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Build and use models to simulate and test control algorithms; evaluate dynamic behavior at component and system level.
• Conceive test scenarios and coordinate with teams for extensive software and field testing on autonomous vehicles.
• Develop metrics and tools to evaluate vehicle dynamics controller performance.
• Participate in architecture strategy and algorithm design reviews; conduct root-cause investigations and data analysis from simulations and testing.
