Job summary

Placements24 in Welkom, South Africa, seeks a Senior Automotive Welder & Fabricator to lead advanced welding and fabrication on high-performance automotive projects. You will interpret blueprints, select techniques, and craft custom components with precision.

The role requires experience across MIG/TIG/Stick, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a well-equipped workshop. Portfolio of previous automotive fabrication is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Welder and Fabricator in automotive context.
• Must read blueprints and weld symbols accurately.
• Knowledge of steel, aluminum and stainless steel properties.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG and Stick welding on automotive structures.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specs for precise fabrication.
• Cut, shape and form metal pieces with grinders, shears and presses.
• Repair frames, panels and parts using welding and fabrication techniques.
• Construct exhaust systems, chassis mods and custom parts.
• Ensure integrity, safety and aesthetic quality of work.
• Select suitable welding equipment per material and project.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment.
• Collaborate with designers to refine fabrication methods.
• Conduct quality checks and adjust as needed.
