Job summary

Bruce's Tire & Auto Service in San Jose is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair customer vehicles efficiently, following MAP guidelines and dealership standards.

This role offers hourly pay from $30 to $50, plus a productivity bonus, with benefits including tuition reimbursement, paid time off, holidays, insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Senior automotive technician with hands-on repair experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ASE certification or equivalent training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommend services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
• Follow all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.
