Job summary

Greg's Japanese Auto in the United States seeks a Senior Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair customer vehicles per MAP guidelines and dealership standards. You will efficiently diagnose and repair vehicles and clearly explain repairs to customers and staff.

Compensation is up to $60 per hour, depending on experience, with a benefits package including health coverage, paid time off, holidays, retirement plan, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Minimum one unexpired ASE certification or equivalent experience
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to work five days per week, including Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles according to certification/experience level
• Perform work as outlined on inspections and repair orders with efficiency and accuracy
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff
• Recommend services and document all recommendations in customer files
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns to management
• Maintain ASE certifications and renewals as needed

Overview

The Senior Automotive Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers and Greg’s Automotive standards.

COMPENSATION: UP TO $60 / HR FLAG - VARIES UPON EXPERIENCE

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommends services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.
