Job summary

Roush is seeking a Senior Automotive Mechanic in Dearborn, MI to modify, diagnose, repair and maintain vehicles in a prototype environment. You will mentor teammates, ensure work meets company standards, and maintain thorough service records.

The role requires strong mechanical expertise, the ability to lead others and work overtime/weekends as needed. This is a full-time on-site position based in Dearborn, MI, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a mechanic.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to mentor and train others and work independently.
• Has own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekends.
• Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections.
• Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components.
• Read, interpret, and follow service procedures.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and act as SME.
• Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders.
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
• Lead daily shop organization and clean-up.
