Sun Auto Tire & Service is seeking a Senior Automotive Technician in San Antonio, TX. You will diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems, following MAP guidelines and manufacturer standards to ensure first-time quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive diagnosis and repair across multiple vehicle systems.
• Advanced diagnostic capability using scan tools, meters, and test plans.
• ASE certifications or equivalent competency; ongoing training.
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR; state inspector license as required.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends; able to work 18+ years.

Responsibilities

• Perform Digital Vehicle and Multi-Point Inspections with accurate measurements and photos.
• Lead diagnosis of complex mechanical, electrical, drivability, and comeback concerns.
• Complete advanced electrical, drivability, and major mechanical repairs.
• Validate repairs with road tests, relearns/resets, and safety checks.
• Support quality control by verifying repairs and addressing gaps to reduce comebacks.
• Explain repair options and outcomes to store managers and service advisors.
• Explain complex issues to customers to build trust.
• Mentor and coach other technicians on diagnostic best practices.
• Model safe work practices and follow PPE and shop procedures.
