Job summary

Snapon is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to lead the development of automotive alignment and ADAS products. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong documentation, testing, and analysis skills; you will document designs for manufacturing release and maintain an engineering notebook to support patent goals. Experience with Creo and FEA is preferred.

Qualifications

  • BSME or BSMET degree minimum; master's degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of mechanical design experience in automotive or related field.
  • Proficient with 3D CAD and engineering analysis methods.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical design and development of new products or enhancements.
  • Lead in a team environment with engineers from multiple disciplines.
  • Prepare documentation for release to manufacturing and internal records.
  • Maintain engineering notebooks to support patent goals.
  • Test and validate alignment products to ensure performance and quality.
  • Collaborate with broader engineering teams to meet PM requirements.
  • Support Rapid Continuous Improvement initiatives to reduce cost and improve performance.
  • Develop deep understanding of the company's products and applications.
