Job summary

Unient India is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to focus on automation, implement and execute test scripts, and report bugs to ensure a reliable, scalable platform. You will design, build, and maintain the automation framework, and work with the Test Lead to standardise methods across projects.

The role requires hands-on experience with performance and functional test automation tools, strong programming skills in Java/JavaScript, and the ability to collaborate across DevOps and QA teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in performance testing including load and stress testing.
• Hands-on with performance testing tools such as K6, JMeter.
• Experience with JavaScript-based performance testing tools like Artillery.
• Extensive experience in Functional Test Automation using Selenium, WebdriverIO, Playwright, Cypress, Robot Framework.
• Strong experience in BDD automation with Selenium.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines end-to-end for automated testing and deployment workflows.
• Experience designing test frameworks and automation strategies.
• Collaborative, cross-functional work across development, QA and DevOps.
• Programming in Java, .NET, JavaScript.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

As an Automation Test Engineer, you will be primarily focused on automation and will be responsible for implementing and executing test scripts, executing and identifying/reporting bugs to ensure the delivery of a reliable and scalable platform to customers. You will be working with the Test Lead and would be involved with planning, design, and building the automation test framework, standards, and guidelines.

Design, implement, operate, and maintain new and existing automated testing framework/s to support testing of front-end, API, database tiers across different browsers, devices, and across products

• Develop, execute, maintain, and optimise automated tests based on existing, updated, and new manual test cases
• Provide clear and reliable reporting of automated test execution results and bugs to ensure delivery of reliable and scalable products to our customers
• Perform and participate in code reviews to promote best practices in the test automation space
• Work in conjunction with the Test Lead to create best practice assessments of the current level of testing methods, processes, standardisation; followed by the design, tailoring, consultation, implementation and standardisation of those methods and techniques across all future work.
• Ability to work with high level of autonomy. Ability to communicate in complex ideas across all levels of the organisation.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Strong experience in Performance Testing, including Load Testing and Stress Testing
• Hands-on expertise with performance testing tools such as: K6, JMeter
• Experience with JavaScript-based performance testing tools like Artillery and similar frameworks
• Extensive experience in Functional Test Automation using tools/frameworks such as: Selenium, WebdriverIO, Playwright, Cypress, Robot Framework
• Strong experience in BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) automation implementation, specifically with Selenium
• Proven experience in implementing CI/CD pipelines end-to-end for automated testing and deployment workflows

Strong expertise in:

• API Automation Testing
• Test framework design and automation strategy implementation
• Experience in assessing current testing processes, methodologies, and standardization practices, followed by:
• Designing and tailoring best practices
• Consulting with stakeholders
• Implementing and standardizing testing methodologies across future initiatives.
• Highly collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally with development, QA, DevOps, and business teams
• Programming experience in: Java, .NET, JavaScript
• Experience using AI-powered tools for:

Test generation, Test validation, Automation acceleration

• Experience working within Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) organizations
• Overall 8-10 years of extensive automation testing experience in a similar role

ISTQB Foundation Certification
