Good co India is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer Lead to design and implement scalable test automation frameworks across web, mobile, API, and backend applications. You will drive architecture, tool selection, and coding standards while mentoring engineers and aligning QA with product goals.

You will lead API testing, automation strategy, and CI/CD integration, collaborating with DevOps, development, and QA teams to improve software quality and cycle times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of software testing and test automation experience, including automation framework development and architecture.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript; hands-on with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress.
• Experience in API testing using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Proven ability to design scalable, maintainable automation frameworks and lead automation initiatives.

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and robust test automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and backend applications.
• Define automation architecture, standards, best practices, and technology strategies across projects.
• Lead the selection and implementation of automation tools, frameworks, and technologies.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, QA, and product teams to establish comprehensive test strategies and quality engineering practices.
• Implement API, integration, regression, functional, and end-to-end automation testing.
• Optimize test execution, reporting, reliability, and framework performance to reduce testing cycles.
• Establish coding standards, conduct code reviews, mentor automation engineers, and provide technical leadership.
• Identify automation opportunities, assess risks, troubleshoot complex failures, and drive continuous improvement in software quality.
• Define automation metrics, test coverage targets, quality gates, and reporting mechanisms.
• Evaluate emerging testing technologies and incorporate suitable solutions into the automation ecosystem

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in software testing and test automation, with significant experience in automation framework development and architecture.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on expertise in Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent automation frameworks.
• Strong experience in API testing using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Proven experience designing scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git, Docker, and cloud-based testing environments.
• Experience with BDD frameworks, design patterns, test data management, and parallel test execution.
• Understanding of microservices, REST APIs, databases, SQL, and distributed application architectures.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6 is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and drive automation strategy across multiple projects.
• ISTQB or relevant cloud/DevOps certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
